Sweet! We're at the end of the week. You may want some dessert after what's been dished out to you this week, so here are the reports, links and reads I shared from others on Twitter, where I'm @dontgetcaught. I hope they make a great weekend read for you:- Editors speak: Google News will now feature editor's picks, a mix of choices by the editors of select publications and crowdsourcing from reader reactions. It might offer you another bonus metric when your coverage scores in this category...or at least bragging rights.
- Admissions officers speak: Higher ed has work to do, as graduate admissions officers "frown upon" Facebook. It's based on a survey by Kaplan.
- Your location speaks: If location is among your company or organizational assets, you might want a Foursquare page. Here's how to make one.
- Facebook speaks (to marketers): This study says that all but 7 percent of social media campaigns used Facebook. That's among the 80 percent of companies with 100 or more employees using social media in their marketing this year.
And a few extras:
- The ScienceWriters meeting website is live. You can register as of August 17 online. I'm co-organizing a special Ignite! session at the meeting, about which more later.
- Today's the last day to get your discount on registration for my August 24 workshop, Be an Expert on Working with Experts, for communicators, development officers and government relations folks.
Enjoy your weekend, and thanks for reading!
